about

Melbourne based three-piece Celadore recently entered Red Door Sounds with the sole intention of leaving with a recording that captured them at their very best, as a live band.
"Kinks In Armour", the first taste of the fruits of this labour, is a brooding pop-rocker with style, swagger and more hooks than your average bait shop. Comparisons made by producer Chris Cheney (of iconic Australian band The Living End) to timeless groups such as Crowded House and You Am I are evident, and give credence to the band's desire to be more than a flash in the pan. Following on from 2010's EP "Distance Is A Gun", the unveiling of "Kinks In Armour" is another bold step for Celadore, a strong indication of who they are and where they're headed.

“Celadore are a band to watch… Neil Finn meets "The Bends" era Radiohead meets You Am I. For a relatively young band, they possess a sense of melody and a depth to their songwriting that’s beyond their years. They are really great players who have found their own sound

lyrics

no darker karma
kinks in armour
i'm inventing such
raving and rattling

all that cursing in your head

don't think for me
happy breathing
the night sea air
oh sweet lady reverie

she offers sugar for the cuts

damned little saint made her belly ache
and nothing
in one hundred years of give and take
is coming good

i'll always be brave
on one day in one age
she said "i've seen the devil in this town"
and gave me the vaccine

i've got one naked in a cell

oh my

damned little saint made her belly ache
and nothing
in one hundred years of give and take
is coming good

dragging my feet
out of the fog
up to the hill
where i was from
the longer it takes
the more that i age
burning restraint
again and again

dragging my feet
out of the fog
up to the hill
where i was from
dragging my feet
out of the fog
there's someone to meet
boiling the pot
hissing and hot
ready or not
come to a stop
where is your god?
